The reporter learned from the Disaster Relief Department of the Ministry of Civil Affairs that after the debris flow disaster in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the National Disaster Reduction Committee and the Ministry of Civil Affairs quickly adopted emergency measures to fully support Gansu Province in doing disaster relief work for the major debris flow disasters in Zhouqu County, Gansu Province. One time, 5,000 single tents were transferred to the disaster area.

According to reports, according to the National Emergency Response Plan for Natural Disaster Relief, the National Disaster Reduction Committee and the Ministry of Civil Affairs have promptly launched the national secondary emergency response and fully support Gansu Province in disaster relief and resettlement.

According to the needs of the affected areas, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Railways immediately started an emergency response mechanism after the disaster. At the first time, they dispatched 5,000 single tents, 200 36-square-meter large tents and 20,000 pieces of tents to the disaster-stricken area from the Central Relief Material Xi’an Reserve Bank of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Cotton coats, 8000 folding beds and 5,000 sleeping bags help the affected people solve their basic difficulties.

On the early morning of August 8, a heavy rainfall triggered a landslide and debris flow in Zhouqu County, Gansu Province, causing heavy casualties and property losses. As of 16:00 on the 8th, statistics showed that 127 people were killed in the mudslide disaster in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. 76 people were injured and nearly 2,000 people were missing. 45,000 people were urgently resettled, and more than 120 houses had more than 300 houses collapsed.
