Toshiba to develop new CMOS sensor to identify LED lights

Toshiba has developed a 2-megapixel BSI (backside illuminated) CMOS image sensor "CSA02M00PB" with LED flicker suppression for car-mounted cameras. Samples will be available starting from March 2016. The product is scheduled to be showcased at the 22nd ITS World Congress 2015 in Bordeaux, France, starting October 5, 2015.

The new product uses a new generation of self-developed by Toshiba HDR (High Dynamic Range) approach. This is a single-frame method, which reduces resolution degradation and provides a clear image without overexposure in environments with high contrast.
