The tractor must pay attention to the connection between the tractor and the semi-trailer in the process of connecting the flat-bed semi-trailer. The key points are the connection of the traction seat and the traction pin and the connection of the electrical circuit.
Saddle and traction pin connection
Before connecting, carefully check whether there is enough grease on the surface of the tractor saddle plate. Whether there is foreign matter on the traction pins or the traction slide plate of the flatbed semi-trailer, ensure that the traction skateboard is clean.
1. Adjust the support legs so that the flat-bed semi-trailer traction skateboard can adapt to the height of the traction saddle. Generally, the semi-trailer traction slide should be 1-3 cm lower than the center of the upper plane of the traction saddle. Take care not to be too high. Otherwise, sometimes not only can not be connected, but also damage the tractor, tractor pins and related parts.
2. Operate the traction seat locking mechanism to open the locking block to a free state.
3. When the tractor is rewinding, the centerline of the tractor-platform and the semi-trailer strives to be consistent, and the centerline offset of the two vehicles is limited to 40 mm or less. After the saddle seat of the tractor is aligned with the traction pin, the vehicle is slowly reversing until it hears a “click†sound, and when the locking block returns, the tractor and the flat semi-trailer are successfully towed.
4. Check whether the tractor locking block locks the traction pin and whether it is securely locked.
5. Advance the tractor slightly and check that the connection is good.
Electrical connection between tractor and flatbed semi-trailer
1. Attach the two trachea joints (commonly known as handshakes) on the tractor to the two air fittings on the flatbed semi-trailer. The air supply line of the tractor is connected to the air supply line of the semitrailer, and the control line of the tractor is connected to the control line of the semitrailer.
2. After the gas connections are connected to each other, unscrew the semi-trailer air circuit connecting the disconnect switch on the tractor to make it ventilated. Otherwise, the air supply to the flatbed semi-trailer brake system cannot be performed, and the brake system cannot work.
3. Start the engine, observe the barometer of the cab, and increase the pressure in the air tank of the tractor and flatbed semi-trailer to the specified pressure.
4. Check for gas leaks and check that the brake system is working properly.
5. Insert the cable connector of the tractor into the seven-hole socket on the front of the flatbed semi-trailer until it snaps onto the seven-hole plug.
6. Check if the electrodes are well connected and confirm that the lights such as the taillights are working properly.
