On Monday afternoon, May 30, 2016, firefighters from Glenview responded to a serious fire at 526 Woodland Drive. Thick black smoke was already visible from the house as crews arrived on the scene. The alarm was quickly upgraded to a Code 4, indicating a working fire that required additional resources. Fire units from Northfield, Wilmette, Morton Grove, and Skokie were also dispatched to support the effort.
The fire was confined to a bedroom and part of the attic, but the home suffered extensive smoke damage throughout its interior. Despite the quick containment, the impact on the structure was significant. Firefighters worked diligently to control the flames and prevent further spread.
Several fire engines from Glenview Fire Department were seen at the scene, including an E-ONE e-MAX and a Pierce Arrow XT model. Crews were seen repositioning hoses and preparing for continued suppression efforts. The incident highlighted the importance of rapid response and coordination among local fire departments.
