Suzhou High-tech Zone Builds China's Automotive Industry Highlands

The 2nd China Auto Parts Suppliers Conference will be held in Suzhou High-tech Zone in June this year. Today, the organizers held a press conference in Beijing to reveal that with the help of Dongfeng, Suzhou High 2 New Area will make every effort to build the highland of China's automobile industry. The auto and parts and components industry has become one of the pillar industries in the district to comprehensively upgrade and optimize the industrial structure.

As an important part of Suzhou's “One Body, Two Wings” development pattern, Suzhou High-tech Zone is committed to building a high-level automotive industry that integrates R&D, production, sales, maintenance, and exhibition. Up to now, Suzhou High-tech Zone has more than 130 auto parts production companies, from the United States, Japan, South Korea and other parts of the world in nearly 20 countries and regions, including chassis, engine, steering and other systems.

According to reports, among the more than 200 auto parts products produced in Suzhou High-tech Zone, there are honeycomb ceramics produced by Japan's largest manufacturer of honeycomb ceramics, Japan NGK Co., Ltd.; (Intermediate film produced by (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.; bearing product manufactured by Timken- NSK, the world's second largest automotive bearing manufacturer. Recently, the Snow R&D and Design Center of Japan, one of the world's largest automotive design companies, has settled in Suzhou Science and Technology City; Huanghai Automobile has also set up factories in the Suzhou High-tech Zone to produce passenger buses for the 2008 Olympic Games.

With the rapid development of China's economy and the general increase in income of urban and rural residents, China has gradually entered the automobile era. In 2005, China’s auto production and sales volume exceeded 5 million vehicles, and the three major automotive industry groups in the Bohai Rim, along the Yangtze River and the South have formed. Suzhou is located in the center of the Yangtze River Auto Industry Cluster with obvious advantages. At the same time, IT electronics and precision machinery, which are the basic industries for the development of auto and parts companies, are the pillar industries of Suzhou Hi-tech Zone. This undoubtedly provides a vast space for the future development of high-tech auto parts enterprises.

At the press conference, Guan Aiguo, director of the Suzhou High-tech Zone Management Committee, said that the obvious policy advantages, living supporting advantages, and government service advantages of the Suzhou High-tech Zone are also important reasons for the growing number of auto parts companies. The most important thing is that the human resources here are abundant and it is easy to find the high-quality talents that the company needs. Therefore, auto parts companies have become the first choice for investing in high-tech zones.

It is understood that at present, there are two major sections in the Suzhou High-tech Zone that are closely linked with the automobile industry. One is the auto parts industrial park and the other is Suzhou Hi-tech International Automobile City. Suzhou High-tech Zone has built a special auto parts industrial park, focusing on the research and development of advanced automotive electronic products, and will focus on building auto parts research and development platforms. At the same time, Suzhou Hi-tech International Automobile City has also been built, relying on more than 200 kinds of products produced by the existing auto parts manufacturers to build a platform for exhibitions and services that perfectly integrate the automotive industry and the automotive culture.
