The commercial vehicle engine market was also expected to grow by 17% in 2009, reaching 2,995,200 and 2,985,500 units in production and sales, respectively. Diesel engines would account for the majority, with 2,468,700 and 2,457,000 units produced and sold, while gasoline engines would see around 526,500 units in cumulative production and sales.
