The first domestic 500 tons/year HFC-23 decomposition clean development mechanism project jointly established by Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. and Japan has undergone a production handover ceremony, and Juehua assumes the daily operation and management of the plant. Juhua is the first fluorine chemical company in China to formally implement a CO2 emission trading program. The clean development mechanism in the chemical industry is mainly achieved through the abatement of trifluoromethane. Trifluoromethane is a by-product of the production of refrigerant HCFC-22, and its greenhouse effect potential is 11700 times that of carbon dioxide. Juhua now has 3 sets of HFC-22 production equipment. In cooperation with Japan, it is a set of 15,000 tons/year production equipment. It adopts Japan's advanced technology to decompose trifluoromethane to carbon dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and hydrochloric acid, thereby greatly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions.
It is understood that Juhua’s annual decomposition project is equivalent to approximately 5.62 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reductions, and Japan will receive 40 million tons of emission rights within seven years from 2007. During the operation period of the project, Juhua will obtain a substantial return of nearly 50 million yuan annually due to CO2 emission reduction. According to reports, Juhua’s second CDM project is currently under planning.
