ABB built an international low-voltage equipment laboratory in China

Beijing, December 23, 2010 – ABB, the world's leading power and automation technology group, held an inauguration ceremony for the ABB Low Voltage Equipment Laboratory in Xinhui, Guangdong. The laboratory is located in ABB Xinhui Low Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd., a local ABB company. So far, the laboratory has successively been accredited by the TÜV Rheinland Group, the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and the China Energy Efficiency Label Management Center, marking that its testing and testing levels have reached international standards.

Fang Qin, chairman and president of ABB (China) Co., Ltd., said: "The completion of the laboratory not only enhances the testing capabilities of ABB's existing products, but also helps us shorten the product development cycle and better meet new market demands, and further Strengthened our technical leadership in the market.”

Product testing is an important part of the electric equipment manufacturing company to ensure product quality and strengthen its R&D capabilities. In order to meet the growing demand for product R&D, production and quality control, ABB Xinhui Low Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. began to organize the laboratory in 2008. At present, the laboratory is mainly engaged in the testing of ABB low-voltage switches and control equipment, including material testing, performance characteristics testing, and life testing. It covers most of the standards of low-voltage switch control equipment and also has the ability to identify the energy efficiency level of AC contactors.

In August 2010, the laboratory passed the WMT approval of the TÃœV Rheinland Group, a global certification body, which means that ABB does not need to send products to the TÃœV Rheinland Group for testing. The TÃœV Rheinland Group will issue test reports and certificates based on the test results of the ABB New Society Laboratory. As a global certification authority, the test reports and certificates issued by the TÃœV Rheinland Group will be widely accepted and recognized by many countries around the world. This will enable ABB Xinhui Low Voltage Switchgear's products to be free from trade barriers and quickly enter the rest of the world. market.

In 2010, after a series of rigorous assessments and reviews, the laboratory was accredited by the China Energy Efficiency Label Management Center's AC Contactor Energy Efficiency Testing Laboratory. In the future, the laboratory will be able to directly confirm the energy efficiency level of AC contactors produced by ABB.

At the end of 2009, an audit team from CNAS conducted an on-site assessment of the laboratory, inspected the laboratory's testing environment, test operations, and relevant documentation records, and finally confirmed that ABB Xinhui's laboratory complied with CNAS's Guidelines for Accreditation of Test and Calibration Laboratories. 》
