U.S. Ideal Industries Launches Next Generation Cable Certification Tester

IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. announced the launch of LanTEK, the latest generation of LAN cable authenticators. II. LanTEK? The Series II Certified Tester provides LAN cable performance certification for TIA, ISO, and IEC performance standards.

LanTEK? The three models of II help users to verify the performance classification of all LAN cables: LanTEK? The II-350 tester can be used for applications up to 350 MHz, including 5E and 6 (ISOD and E); LanTEK? The II-500 has a frequency range of 500 MHz and supports Class 6A and ISOEA; LanTEK? The II-1000's scanning frequency is up to 1GHz and can be used in mixed media applications such as ISOFA and other CATV systems using twisted pair cables.

New LanTEK? II cable certification instrument can replace LanTEK? Series, and is the sixth generation of LAN cable certification instrument introduced by American ideal company after acquiring Wavetek's LAN certification department in 2001. LanTEK? II provides excellent performance and value, and can perform a full 6/ISOE test in only 14 seconds, including saving full graphics data. The test results are displayed on a super-bright and sharp 4.3-inch widescreen LCD monitor, which provides a simple graphical user interface for analysis and navigation.

Like previous generation products, LanTEK? II still uses a patented measurement system. Unlike any other authenticator, a universal test adapter can be used to implement channel and permanent link measurements. Instead of replacing expensive proprietary modules or hard-wired adapters, users can simply replace high-quality jumpers with a new set of off-the-shelf wires.

LanTEK? II also continues to provide patented dual-mode testing that helps to use an Autotest for copper link testing against two different performance standards. This makes it easy to test a link under current standards and measure performance margins for future standards with higher performance requirements; at the same time, it only adds 1 second of Autotest time.

LanTEK? Another feature of the II Cable Verifier is the ideal DataCENTER analysis and reporting software from Ideal America. IDC helps the user to customize the test interface to display all the test parameters in the optical network and observe the sorting records of all the optional parameters. This makes it easier for users to immediately find tests that fail to meet the desired performance requirements. In addition, the graphical interface is fully customizable, among other functions, to help the user change the frequency range from linear to logarithmic, or to change the decibel scale to display data in any desired format.

Compared to its predecessor, LanTEK? There are many significant improvements in the hardware of the II, such as the large, 4.3-inch WQVGA display with bright, energy-efficient white LED backlighting, which is clearly visible in all lighting conditions and near 180-degree viewing angles. The new lithium-ion battery reduces weight and extends the working time between charges to astonishing 18 hours. The battery has two charging modes: one is the standard 8-hour charging for charging the battery in the handheld device, and the other is 4-hour fast charging. Just remove the battery from the handheld device and insert the power cord directly into the battery.

The large-capacity memory can accommodate up to 1,700 6-level measurement graphs, and the USB interface supports standard USB key-chain memory drivers for quick and easy unloading and saving of tests. The push-to-talk (PTT) function includes a talkset that eliminates annoying background noise. The device is equipped with a lightweight, lightweight case that has a hard, resilient shell and a close-fitting EVA foam inner layer to prevent damage to the instrument during handling.
