On January 3, some symposiums organized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council were held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Huang Danhua, deputy director of the SASAC, attended the meeting.
Dong Ping’s general manager and Party committee secretary Xu Ping and Dongfeng’s deputy general manager Liu Zhangmin attended the meeting. Xu Ping reported on Dongfeng’s recent production and operation conditions, future development strategies, ideological and political work for party building, and implementation of the Labor Contract Law. He said that from January to November this year, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. produced 1.05 million vehicles and sold 1.02 million automobiles, and both the production and sales exceeded the one million mark and completed the milestone career goal of building a million-class auto company ahead of schedule. In the past 40 years, Dongfeng Company has consistently adhered to the principle of relying on employees to run businesses. In the process of accelerating the development and maintenance of employees' interests, Dongfeng Company has explored a balanced approach and a win-win approach, creating a history of corporate and employee growth. On January 1, 2008, after the “Labor Contract Law†was formally implemented, Dongfeng required managers at all levels to “see the implementation of the new law as an opportunity†and fully understand the “Labor Contract Law†in regulating employers and employees (both parties). The active role played in the interest relationship has brought into full play the role of the Labor Contract Law in accelerating management innovation, improving employee relations, and improving the overall management level of the company.
After listening to the report, Huang Danhua fully affirmed the new achievements made by the seven central enterprises such as Dongfeng Company in terms of production and operation, scientific and technological innovation, and ideological and political work in party building. She stressed that the current central enterprises must grasp the spirit of studying and implementing the party's 17th National Congress as a political task, and must earnestly integrate ideas and actions into the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. At the same time, after the “Labor Contract Law†is formally implemented, the central enterprises must conscientiously implement and accurately grasp the spirit of the “Labor Contract Law†and promote the healthy and coordinated development of the labor relations of the company.
