Senior U.S. trade officials will visit China soon to put pressure on China, requesting greater protection of intellectual property rights and opening the auto parts market to the United States.
Comprehensive Foreign Power reported on February 27 that US senior trade officials will visit China this week in order to exert pressure on the Chinese government to increase the protection of intellectual property rights and open the auto parts market to the United States.
The Financial Times quoted U.S. trade officials as saying that the United States hopes that in the upcoming meeting, China will be able to provide intellectual property information to share, or at least how much information is available, in detail.
At present, U.S. President George W. Bush is under increasing pressure from Congress, and Congress is demanding that it take tougher measures to resolve the trade deficit with China.
Chinese President Hu Jintao is scheduled to visit the United States at the end of April. More and more people expect that if no substantive progress is made during the visit to the United States, the United States will submit one or more trade disputes to the WTO for ruling.
