At the China LED Lighting Standards International Forum held recently, Chen Yansheng, chairman of the China Lighting Association, warned that there is no shortage of standards in China's LED lighting industry. However, if new standards are embraced, it will easily cause serious waste of resources.
The reason for the chaos in the lighting industry standard is that China's LEDs are too eager to formulate specific product standards when formulating standards, while ignoring the basic standards system research. Chen Yansheng said.
As Chen Yansheng said, if the industry can introduce uniform standards that the parties will comply with as soon as possible, it must be a happy event. LED is not synonymous with tall, and everywhere we have bright spots, it is indispensable: indoor lighting, television, car lights, and even a small flashlight, are members of the LED family. The relevant market prospects are even more limitless: At present, global LED production capacity is shifting to China, and around 50 LED packages and more than 60 LED applications are in China.
In the LED industry, which believes in the standard, the above data fully reflects the size of the right to speak. As a result, some localities and some associations quickly formulated LED technology quality standards to seize the market. At present, the LED industry standards in many places are formulated by enterprises spontaneously. Can the industry standards formulated by such enterprises be convincing? If no one is convinced, what is the significance of such a local standard?
It is undeniable that the introduction of a local standard, enterprises and localities may benefit, but the potential harm of local technology and trade barriers formed at the same time must not be ignored: insufficient market competition is not conducive to the overall technological progress of the LED industry, and more bitter Consumers: If you have to buy a single LED product, you must master the standard of one place, and consumers must not be smelted into an expert hand?
If the manufacturer can proceed from the interests of consumers, the unified standard is not difficult to find: LED research and development closely focuses on the performance indicators such as cost performance, energy consumption, longevity and harmfulness that consumers care most about, and think about what products are most needed in the market. That is the industry standard that is universally applicable.
