BMW Teams with Toyota to Jointly Develop Next-Generation Battery

A few days ago, BMW announced in a statement that BMW had already started working with Toyota Motor to develop next-generation batteries to power "cleaner" cars. Both companies will work hard to improve "New material combination" performance and capacity of lithium-ion batteries.

BMW Motors stated that in addition to cooperating with the research and development of next-generation batteries, BMW will also supply diesel engines to Toyota's European business unit from 2014. The joint BMW and Toyota will enable Toyota, Asia’s largest automaker, to expand its diesel-powered automotive business in Europe. For BMW, the cooperative relationship between the two parties will enable BMW to cooperate with Toyota, the world's largest hybrid car manufacturer. This will help BMW, which is trying to fend off Volkswagen Audi, to repel the offense of the general public. Audi's goal is to become a leader in luxury car sales. It is reported that the cooperation plan between BMW and Toyota was first announced on December 1, 2011. BMW announced today that the two companies have signed an agreement to reach a formal memorandum of understanding.

The mixing chamber is made of advanced special steel, with surface treated with abrasion resistant steel, coated with hard chromium to provided excellent abrasion resistance and its service life 1-2 times longer than traditional dispersion kneaders.
