The 9th China International Chemical Industry Exhibition, held from April 23 to 25 at the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center, marked a significant milestone in the global chemical industry. This year's event brought together nearly 800 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions, showcasing a vast array of products and cutting-edge technologies across various sectors such as petrochemicals, chemicals, and related industries. The exhibition spanned an impressive area of 23,000 square meters, highlighting the growing importance of this platform for international collaboration.
A special section was dedicated to overseas exhibitors, featuring comprehensive displays of basic organic and inorganic chemicals, dyes, pigments, specialty chemicals, synthetic materials, and advanced equipment. Additional zones focused on phosphorus chemistry, fluorine chemicals, water treatment solutions, new materials, safety systems, and more. Domestic companies continued to grow steadily, with major players like Sinopec, CNPC, CNOOC, Sinofine, and Huayi Group actively participating. Private enterprises also showed strong interest, particularly in areas like drying equipment, phosphorus, and fluorine chemicals, leading to a record number of exhibitors.
Overseas participation saw a notable increase, with the total number of exhibitors rising from over 80 in the previous session to around 140. The German delegation, organized by VDMA, occupied over 300 square meters—up 50% compared to the last event—and included 22 German companies, associations, and media representatives. France and Russia also presented large national pavilions, while numerous other international participants from Switzerland, India, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Sweden, Canada, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UAE, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan joined the event.
In addition to the exhibition, a series of high-level forums took place, including the 4th China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Development International Forum, the 2008 China Petroleum and Chemical Market System Construction Summit, the China Chemical Industry Park Development Forum, the China Coal Chemical Industry Development Conference, and several seminars on hot chemical products, scientific literature, technological innovation, and sustainable development in the phosphorus and fluorine chemical industries. These events provided valuable insights and fostered meaningful discussions among industry leaders.
This dynamic event not only showcased the latest innovations but also strengthened international ties in the chemical sector. It served as a vital platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and business opportunities.
