A team of researchers from Switzerland has recently produced a flexible, rubber-like electronic circuit that stretches to four times the original length in any direction. This mixed material is made of liquid metal and solid metal alloy. The team first used a high molecular weight silicone compound called polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) to make a thin film and then formed a double-layered metal structure by evaporating gallium into a sputtering gold film to a thickness of only 60 nanometers .
