I just visited Highland Park and came across some interesting updates with their emergency vehicles. First off, they’ve got a brand-new ambulance, number 34, which is a pretty exciting addition to the fleet. It’s a Horton Type I ambulance mounted on a 2013 Ford F-450 chassis. The design looks sharp, and it seems like they’re really stepping up their game when it comes to modernizing their equipment. There’s also a new law or regulation tag attached to it, which caught my attention—must be something important if they’re updating that too.
On top of the new ambulance, Highland Park’s Dive Squad 34 and Boat 34 are still going strong. Their dive rescue unit is equipped with a 2006 Ford F-550 and a boat from Rescue Vehicles of Iowa. It’s impressive how well-maintained everything looks, especially considering these vehicles are over a decade old now. They clearly take pride in their equipment because even the boat appears to be in excellent condition. While I was there, I also noticed another vehicle with an updated law tag. This one seems to be related to their fire trucks, though I couldn’t get too close to see the specifics. It’s always fascinating to see how towns keep upgrading their emergency services. Highland Park definitely seems committed to ensuring their first responders have the best tools available.
Overall, it’s clear that Highland Park is making strides in enhancing its emergency response capabilities. From the shiny new ambulance to the well-maintained dive squad, they’re setting a high standard. It makes me feel safer knowing that this community is investing in its safety infrastructure. If only every town were as proactive!
