2019 Chicago Air and Water show (more)

I just got back from the 2019 Chicago Air and Water Show and it was absolutely incredible! Steve Redick really outdid himself with these photos. The energy in the air was electric, and the performances were nothing short of spectacular. I've always loved this event because it brings together such a diverse crowd to celebrate aviation and water sports. Here’s one shot that really caught my eye — you can almost feel the power of the aircraft as it soars above Lake Michigan. It's like a dance in the sky, and Steve managed to capture that perfectly. There’s something about how the sun reflects off the water and the planes that makes every moment feel magical. Check out this other photo; it’s a bit different but equally captivating. The angles are fantastic, and you get a real sense of the scale involved when you see the jets flying so close to the city skyline. It’s hard not to feel proud of our city when you see something like this. There’s also this awesome shot where the plane seems to be slicing through the clouds. You can almost hear the roar of the engines. It’s moments like these that remind me why the Air and Water Show is such a beloved tradition here. Another one I have to share is this image of the parachutists landing. Their precision is incredible, and it’s clear they’ve put in countless hours of practice. I love how candid these shots feel — it’s like being right there on the scene. And finally, here’s a wider view of the show from down by the lakefront. You can see the whole spectacle unfolding before your eyes. It’s amazing how the blue skies and sparkling waters create such a vibrant backdrop for everything happening overhead. Every year, the Chicago Air and Water Show manages to top itself, and this year was no exception. If you ever get the chance to attend, don’t hesitate—it’s an experience you won’t forget!
