This is what Steve Redick sent over around 5:15 AM on Thursday. Getting any good shots was really tough due to all the heavy smoke and the L tracks blocking the view from the front. The only decent angle I could find was towards the back, but even that wasn’t ideal because the live wires were arcing dangerously close. We had to keep our distance for safety reasons. Since it was a plating company, there were hazardous materials involved, which meant some areas nearby needed to be evacuated. It was great to see the new TL5 in action—it performed really well. In contrast, TL10 had an older HME spare and seemed to be operating more conservatively.

I've been following this incident closely since it started early this morning. The firefighters have been doing an incredible job under challenging conditions. The smoke was so thick that visibility was almost zero in certain areas, making their task even harder. The decision to evacuate nearby residents was crucial given the potential hazards. I’m glad to see that everyone is staying safe while tackling this blaze. This is definitely a reminder of how dangerous these situations can be, but also how prepared our first responders are.
