Saturday evening (January 6, 2018), firefighters from Mundelein were dispatched to 115 Pinehurst Drive around 8:30 PM following reports of a fire in an attached garage. By the time they arrived, the garage was completely engulfed in flames. Within just a few minutes, Battalion 43 called for a MABAS Box Alarm due to the intensity of the fire. Firefighting units quickly took action, deploying three lines to aggressively combat the blaze. Their efforts successfully contained the fire before it could spread significantly into the main house. Unfortunately, one vehicle inside the garage was entirely destroyed, while another parked in the driveway sustained severe damage.
The firefighting operation involved multiple agencies beyond Mundelein. Engines from Countryside, Grayslake, and Wauconda; trucks from Libertyville and Lake Forest; a squad from Fox Lake; and Countryside Chief 4100 all contributed to the response effort. The initial team on the scene included an engine, a tower ladder, an ambulance, and a battalion chief from Mundelein.

The first image shows Mundelein FD Engine 4317 Pierce Enforcer positioned near a hydrant, ready to supply water during the operation. Another photo highlights the extent of the damage to the attached garage, which was almost completely destroyed by the fire. There’s also a shot of a vehicle that didn’t survive the inferno, along with images of the firefighting equipment deployed to manage the situation.
