National standards for plastic shopping bags will be formally introduced

According to relevant officials of the National Standards Commission on the 14th, the national standard for plastic shopping bags will be formally introduced before the “major limit” on June 1. It is expected that the draft will be issued at the end of this month. Dong Jinshi, deputy chairman of the China Plastics Association Plastics Recycling Specialist Committee, participated in the development of the national standard for plastic bags. He disclosed to the media some of the standards to be issued.
Mandatory national standard has been drafted The relevant person in charge of the National Standards Committee recently stated that in order to cooperate with the notice requirements of the State Council, the Standards Committee has started research work on the formulation of relevant standards for plastic shopping bags at the end of last year. At present, the entire standard development work plan has been fully started. The relevant standards are expected to be released at the end of this month. All standards will be issued before the coming of the June 1st deadline set by the State Council. These standards include both product standards and inspection method standards required by the State Council's notice.
It is understood that at present, China does not specifically address the relevant standards for plastic shopping bags, and there is no product standard for plastic shopping bags with a thickness of less than 0.025 mm. This new standard was drafted by the National Plastics Standardization Committee and will be the first mandatory national standard for plastic shopping bags.
Prior to this, China had only the national recommended standards for "commercial retail packaging bags" (GB/T18893-2002), which were aimed at packaging bags made of plastic, kraft paper and whiteboard paper as packaging substrates. Moreover, this standard was downgraded to the industry standard of the packaging industry in 2006 and its implementation was insufficient.
The food bag must indicate that Dong Jinshi, deputy chairman of the China Plastics Association Plastics Recycling Professional Committee, disclosed that the standard will enforce that the plastic bag that directly contacts the food must be printed with the word “food” in a conspicuous position, and according to the market In the regulations, the QS logo must be marked on the plastic bag. Consumers must look at the two signs when buying plastic bagged foods. If they do not have the word “food”, they should refuse to use them.
The State Council's notice stipulates that the minimum thickness of a plastic shopping bag is specified as the critical value of the thickness of a plastic shopping bag - 0.025 mm. This is used as a mandatory indicator of production in the standard. The thickness of a single side of a plastic bag must not be less than 0.025 mm. This is the first time China has incorporated the thickness of plastic bags into the mandatory national standards.
The size deviation does not exceed 2%
In terms of the dimensions of the technical specifications, the length and width must not exceed 2% deviation. For example, one of the plastic bags used in supermarkets, the standard size is 30 × 40 cm, then the allowable error should not exceed 2%.
In appearance, it is required that the plastic bag be even and smooth in texture, non-wrinkle, no residue, no stain, no air bubbles, and no color hole.
Consumers can often see some poor quality plastic bags printed with blurred text patterns. The new standard will require that the printing quality of plastic bags must be uniform ink, clear and complete pattern text, overprinting accuracy, error of overprint shall not exceed 1 mm. In other words, when many bags are stacked together, the printed words must be aligned with an error of no more than 1 mm.
The testing method includes water leakage test standard requirements. The factory-made plastic shopping bags must be subject to factory inspections such as appearance, thickness, and print quality. The whole box must have a certificate of conformity. The certificate must indicate the following information, including: product name, trademark, and manufacturer name. , site, specification, nominal weight, date of manufacture, inspector, etc.
Prior to this, many plastic bags were sold without a certificate.
The standard also stipulates the method of testing the quality of plastic shopping bags, such as lifting tests, leak testing, etc., on physical performance tests. The water leakage test involves injecting 1/5 volume of fresh water into the plastic bag at a temperature of about 23 degrees Celsius and setting it for 1 minute to see if there is water droplets dropping at the bottom. In food plastic bags, there are also tests for loading acid and oil to detect evaporation residues.
