Toona sinensis seeds have a short shelf life, and they all lose their germination power in one year of conventional storage. Therefore, mature fruit picking at the end of September, the fruit dry (can not be exposed to the sun), until the peel is dry, cracking of the shell, the seeds remove impurities, keep the film wing (otherwise seriously affect the germination force), bagging stored in a ventilated and dry room. In order to prevent seed germination, the seeds should be disinfected before germination. There are two kinds of disinfection methods, namely, hot-water hot-stamping and potassium permanganate solution soaking.

Hot water disinfection method: the seeds into the bag, first placed in warm water 45 ~ 48 °C soak for 10 minutes, and then use hot water at 55 °C hot 15 minutes, immediately removed and placed in cold water soaking 6 ~ 8 hours.

Potassium permanganate solution disinfection method: first soak the seeds with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution for 30 minutes, rinse with clean water, and then soak seeds in cold water for 6 to 8 hours.

In the soaking process after the above-mentioned disinfection treatment, a 3000-fold love overdose solution can be added, which can not only increase the height of the toon seedlings, increase the plant weight, and increase the yield, but also allow the sprouts to be harvested 1 to 2 days in advance.

The chemical treatment of germination can be soaked in a 1% formalin solution for 20 minutes, washed repeatedly with fresh water, and then soaked in warm water for a day and night. Or directly soaked in 0.5% potassium permanganate solution overnight for disinfection.

It can also be treated with growth hormone such as alizarin 481 or naphthaleneacetic acid, gibberellin, etc., which can significantly promote germination and seedling growth. Such as 0.1% alizarin 481 soluble powder, 20 kg of water per bag, soaking for 8 to 12 hours, rinse with clean water after the drain can be directly sowed or germination.
