Guangxi Yuchai has focused on the major development strategies of the country's new energy and energy conservation, and has been actively leading the development of green power through the introduction of leading domestic technologies. From January to March this year, Yuchai Group sold a total of 246,396 sets of engines, an increase of 39.55% year-on-year; the cumulative sales revenue was 10.056 billion yuan, an increase of 76.3% year-on-year.
As a leading company in the domestic internal combustion engine industry, Yuchai implemented low-carbon development into the engine industry, effectively controlled emissions and saved energy. In terms of controlling exhaust emissions technology, Yuchai began to develop R&D engines for the “National 5†engine that meets Euro V emission requirements five years ago. Before 2007, it launched China’s first “National 5†engine. At the beginning of the new year 2010, Yuchai received the first batch of "National 5" engine orders and became the only domestic enterprise capable of mass production of the "National 5" engine.
Yuchai is also committed to hybrid research and development. Yuchai started research and development of hybrid power technology in 2004. Over the past five years, Yuchai has finally developed a YCHPT hybrid power system that is fully equipped with independent intellectual property rights and whose performance can be compared with international advanced level. At the 6th International Exhibition on Innovation in Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicles in December 2009, Yuchai exhibited several new energy engines. The "YCHPT Hybrid Power System" was highly praised by the Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang. Under the same conditions, the average fuel saving rate of "YCHPT hybrid system" exceeds 25%, and the highest fuel saving rate can reach 30%. At present, Yuchai's "YCHPT hybrid system" has been trial-produced in small batches, and has been applied to hybrid cars of a number of automobile manufacturers, and has received good response.
At the end of 2009, the world’s first engine that uses existing component technologies to achieve renewable air-hybrid functions was successfully launched at Yuchai. Then, Yuchai realized the first trial operation of a low-carbon, energy-saving, and high-efficiency engine in the country. This is Yuchai’s major breakthrough in core technology, reaching the international advanced level. Yuchai uses an air-powered engine to make it possible to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by changing mechanical equipment without adding any battery or motor power systems. Once this low-carbon, energy-efficient engine is put into road transport, each vehicle can at least reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5 tons per year.
Yuchai takes “green development, harmony and mutual benefit†as the core concept of the company, and has always been committed to being the controller of the “largest active pollution source†and actively fulfilling its social responsibilities. In 2009, Yuchai Group achieved sales revenue of 27.197 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.58%. Among them, the engine sales exceeded 670,000 units, ranking the first in China for nine consecutive years. Yu Ping, chairman of the Yuchai Group Board of Directors, said that Yuchai’s sales revenue will exceed the threshold of 30 billion yuan this year, 40 billion yuan in 2011, 50 billion yuan in 2012, and 80 billion yuan in 2015.
