Why do we use a Double Walled Rim and heavy duty 36 Gauge Spokes?
Initially, we tried various kits, and many of the brushless motors were very good. However, most conversion kits available have issues with incorrect spoking, weak single-walled rims, and improperly sized spokes that bend into an "S" shape. Bicycle wheels weren't designed for this kind of torque, and sometimes you have to tighten the spokes until they finally seat themselves.
FRONT VS REAR?
Front electric bike kits are easier to install and maintain. They’re ideal for balance when using SLA batteries on a rear rack due to weight distribution. Rear kits are harder to install but offer more safety for larger motors. They are suitable only for mechanically inclined individuals or professionals. They can fit up to 7-speed rear gears (we ship with 5). Bad balance with heavy SLA batteries, but better for wheelies. Using lightweight LiFePO4 batteries provides a more natural ride feeling.
