The world's first and largest oil transfer arm, independently designed and manufactured by Dalian Port Group, has been successfully installed and commissioned at the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal in Dalian Port. This DN500mm oil delivery arm stands 25 meters tall and can deliver up to 6,000 cubic meters of oil per hour. It is capable of handling oil tankers with a maximum capacity of 500,000 tons, and can process up to 150,000 tons of cargo in a single operation. The system is expected to go live next month, marking a major milestone for the port’s infrastructure development.
In September 2006, when the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal was completed and put into operation, the existing DN400mm oil transfer arm, also developed by Dalian Port Group, could no longer meet the growing demand from larger oil tankers. Last year, the company initiated a project to design and build a more advanced DN500mm oil delivery arm. Following eight months of research, development, and testing, the new system—developed jointly by Dalian Port Design Institute and Dalian Port Machinery Co., Ltd.—was finally launched.
According to industry reports, the DN500mm oil delivery arm is now recognized as the largest of its kind globally. Not only does it fill a critical technological gap within China, but it also significantly enhances the efficiency of loading and unloading operations at the 300,000-ton crude oil terminal, positioning Dalian Port as a leader in maritime logistics and oil transportation technology.
With the API Specification Q1 issued by the American Petroleum Institution, Letone also obtained the certificate of Authority to use the Official API Monogram of API 7K and API 16C, certificate of Product Design Assessment, Manufacture Assessment and ABS type Approval issued by American Bureau of Shipping (API 7K & API 16C).
