During the Spring Festival, Anqing Petrochemical took a comprehensive approach by considering long-term factors and the impact of continuous rain and snow, which had affected production and operations. In response, the company implemented special scheduling measures, taking advantage of the favorable weather and the low season for passenger transport to accelerate product delivery and reduce inventory of finished and semi-finished products. After completing the free flow of production, the company managed to significantly boost its refined oil rail transportation capacity, reaching an increase of 1,000 tons per day during the holiday period.
Due to the off-peak freight season and the early 20-day rain and snow conditions, some products faced slower sales, leading to delivery challenges. As a result, many products remained in storage, creating pressure on the warehouse system. To address this, Anqing Petrochemical quickly activated an emergency plan, establishing a strong connection between production and sales to ensure smooth operations. During the Spring Festival, the company made full use of the good weather and reduced passenger traffic to ramp up railway transportation of refined oil. Workers at the railway oil station worked through the night, even missing the New Year’s Eve dinner, showing their dedication and commitment.
In the first six days of the festival, the total railroad transportation reached 20,000 tons, averaging 1,000 tons more per day than the factory's output in mid-to-late January. This significant effort helped ease the pressure on inventory and ensured timely distribution.
Anqing Petrochemical also maintained a daily output of over 1,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas. To manage the tight transport capacity, the company actively sought out new market channels, increased waterway transport frequency, and seized the rare periods of good weather to ship products via highway. They also took precautions to prevent accidents caused by overfilled storage tanks, ensuring the safe and stable operation of all equipment.
For chemical products like petroleum coke and polypropylene, the company set up temporary storage yards. On one hand, they maintained close communication with major distributors, helping them move inventory quickly and reduce stock levels, which allowed the production line to operate at full capacity without interruption. Through these efforts, Anqing Petrochemical successfully navigated the challenges of the Spring Festival period while maintaining operational efficiency and safety.
