These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance team-based labor competitions and improve operational efficiency. Since the start of the year, the department has launched extensive activities to identify safety hazards, uncover operational loopholes, and address disciplinary violations. Several key problems were discovered, such as sudden failures in drying ovens and high costs associated with new product trials. In response, the department has developed 149 specific reform measures. Instead of relying on top-down approaches, they have adopted team-based competitions focused on cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, innovation, and performance breakthroughs. These competitions have enabled teams to tap into their potential, leading to targeted solutions and timely implementation of the proposed improvements. Over recent years, the petrochemical department has prioritized a low-cost strategy, promoting team-level labor competitions to drive continuous improvement. This approach has helped set new benchmarks in four key areas: single consumption, energy use, output, and quality. For instance, the No.1 Polyester Combined Unit implemented a "Xiaofei Maintenance Method" to keep material loss below 0.05% of total production, achieving one of the best economic performances in its industry and generating an additional RMB 846,000 in quarterly profits. The South Polyester Plant’s second unit focused on "people-centered safety, optimized layout, and hazard elimination," resulting in more structured and effective safety practices. Employees became more aware of self-protection, and the working environment became safer and more efficient. Meanwhile, the Catalyst Group of the No.3 Polyester Unit concentrated on reducing the cost of new product trials. Through innovative thinking and careful verification, they turned waste into value, creating a new path for energy savings and cost reductions, adding RMB 11,980 in value from new product development. Currently, the department's team competitions aimed at improving cost management are gaining momentum and delivering significant results. In the first quarter of this year, the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of product was only 162.12 kg of standard oil, a 24.43% decrease compared to the same period last year. These achievements highlight the effectiveness of combining team-driven efforts with strategic cost control.
