On September 8th, the Beijing Science and Technology Research and Development Center hosted a groundbreaking press conference to unveil the AR2000 super-regeneration unit, a revolutionary hot air pavement asphalt recycling system, as well as new products from Japan Greene Co., Ltd. Mr. Hosokawa, President of Greene Co., provided an in-depth presentation on the functionality, performance, and practical applications of the AR2000 equipment to key officials and experts from the transportation and construction sectors.
The AR2000 is built upon internationally patented technology that significantly enhances thermal efficiency. It divides the road surface heating and recycling process into four specialized vehicles, each working in sequence to maximize the use of hot air and radiant heat. This method ensures even heating of the pavement, gradually softening the asphalt for efficient recycling. The system also recycles the injected air back into the process, enabling 100% reuse of old asphalt materials with no waste generated.
Unlike traditional methods that rely on direct flame combustion, the AR2000 uses a hot-jet cycle system, which greatly reduces harmful emissions such as smoke, odors, dust, and open flames. Additionally, the reduced need for planing results in lower noise levels at construction sites. By eliminating waste and reusing existing materials, the system also lowers transportation and material costs, making it a more economical and sustainable option for road repair projects.
Japan Greene Co., Ltd. has embraced an eco-friendly technical philosophy, adapting the AR2000 system to suit various geographical environments across Japan, Asia, and other global markets. The company has secured exclusive rights to operate and utilize the proprietary technology of the AR2000 recycling unit. Building on its production and sales rights, they have further developed and improved the system. The version launched this time represents a major upgrade from the original design by Canadian manufacturer MARTEC.
To date, the AR2000 has been successfully deployed in countries including Canada, the United States, Italy, India, and China.
