Recently, a reporter learned from Jiangxi Guixi Fertilizer Co., Ltd. that the company's key environmental project—the phosphoric acid plant re-slurry fluorine water recycling initiative—received a special fund of 4 million yuan from the Ministry of Finance and the State Environmental Protection Administration in 2005. This financial support marked a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to improve its environmental performance and reduce waste.
It is reported that during the phosphoric acid production process, the company generates approximately 600,000 tons of phosphogypsum waste annually. Since the plant was commissioned 15 years ago, the company has continuously invested substantial resources each year to manage wastewater from the slag yard and expand its storage capacity. In 2002, Guihua made a major investment of 12 million yuan to build the largest project in the country for producing 200,000 tons of cement retarder from phosphogypsum.
The new project involves re-slurrying the fluorine-containing water in the phosphoric acid plant, separating the liquid phase, and then recycling it. The solid-phase phosphogypsum is further processed into cement retarder after separation, thereby achieving the dual goal of recycling both wastewater and industrial waste.
This project not only significantly reduced the pressure on the company’s slag yard storage but also minimized the discharge of industrial wastewater. Additionally, it brought considerable economic benefits by transforming waste into valuable products. The success of this initiative highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.
