This innovative multi-functional machine was designed to enhance workpiece flexibility by combining the capabilities of a machining center (MC) with a rotary table. It's capable of handling complex components such as aircraft turbine blades, automotive parts, and molds, all in one unit. Priced at 550,000 euros, it represents a significant step forward in machine tool technology.
The unique design of the ULTRAX 800RT features a vertical machining center positioned above the machine, with the rotating table located on the lower side. The workpiece is mounted on a disc-shaped stage that sits within a cradle-like structure, allowing for tilting and rotation. This setup enables greater versatility in machining operations.
The machine offers five-axis movement: three linear axes (X, Y, Z) on the machining center side, and two rotational axes (A and C) on the stage side. This configuration allows for precise control over the workpiece, making it ideal for intricate and complex shapes.
Previously, manufacturers had to use separate machines for machining centers and rotary tables, which required more space, labor, and time. With the ULTRAX 800RT, these processes are combined into a single unit, reducing costs and improving efficiency. Additionally, since the workpiece only needs to be fixed once, the overall production time is significantly reduced.
Breton has focused its R&D efforts on developing advanced 5-axis composite machines, aiming to differentiate itself in a competitive market.
